Calvert Veterinary Center is a full service animal hospital offering:
- Thorough examinations including Adult and Senior wellness programs.
- In-house laboratory services including blood chemistry, urinalysis, thyroid screening, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia testing, Feline Leukemia/Feline Immunodeficiency Virus testing, fecal parasite testing, Parvo virus testing, and cytology specimen reading.
- Dentistry with digital dental x-ray; our dental procedures include a thorough oral exam and charting of the teeth, anesthesia, IV catheter and warmed fluids, Baer hugger forced air blanket to maintain body temperature, ultrasonic scaling, hand scaling, subgingival currettage, polishing, Oravet application, and a medical progress exam with our technician.
- Laser Surgery: Provides a way to make surgery less painful, by minimizing bleeding, post operative swelling and allows for a quicker recovery from surgery. Most incisions made with the laser will not need external stitches. All of our feline declaws are now performed with laser to ensure our patients have the least amount of pain and discomfort post-operatively. - Telemedicine: the ability to consult with specialists via the internet
- Radiology, with our brand-new high frequency digital X-ray machine. You can now view your pet's xrays on our large monitors in the exam room. We can email them to specialists or give you a copy of them to take home on a CD.
- Hospitalization: We have warm, comfortable laminate cages with plenty of blankets to make sure your pet is at home during their stay with us.
- Exotic animal care for ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and other pocket pets.
- Prescription flavoring service: we can make your pet's medication into a liquid with one of more than 30 differents flavors.
